What news caught my attention?

  1. More than reducing carbon trade emissions, the carbon trade rules seem to have been strengthened to improve the marketplace for carbon trading in the COP-26 pledge. However, the deal is unresolved when it comes to funding research projects in poorer nations by the wealthier countries. All carbon emission reduction pledges are voluntary. Non-enforceable. U.S. and China - the biggest carbon emitters still have not pledged the expected reduction in their emissions.

  2. A Florida trial could potentially unmask the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto - the creator of Bitcoin. A deceased man's family is suing his former business partner over the control of the partnership’s assets. The family alleges that the partners together were Satoshi Nakamoto.

My Takeaways:

  1. COP-26, like its previous editions, is all talk and no action. If pledges are not enforceable, incentives don’t align. I could be too pessimistic, but I have decades worth of pledges to back this belief.

  2. Will we finally find out who is Satoshi Nakamoto?! Stay tuned to know more about the Florida trial.
